Maxi Dress

Monday, February 6, 2012
This past weekend the weather had just been so nice, that I couldn't resist taking some pictures. Two weeks ago we had snow and now we are having 60 degree days. This look was inspired by Sydney's from The Daybook Sometimes. I never thought of wearing a maxi skirt in the winter months, but it makes total sense! Why wouldn't we want some extra fabric to cover our legs and keep us a bit warmer. For this look I didn't have a maxi skirt, so I layered my Free People sweater over my H&M maxi dress. I also found these super fun headband at Free People. It's a little bit different than normal, because it sits on top of your head and is made of wire. It's got these cute little flower charms that hang down into your hair. This headband definitely is great to finish off a boho look.

Mod Days

Tuesday, November 29, 2011
Recently a popular trend has been Mod looks, so I decide to put together my version of it. Since the dress in these photos is actually sleeveless I added a black long sleeve shirt underneath. Normally I am not a huge fan of wearing tights with open toe shoes, but this was an exception. I actually like these with particular shoes with tights. When you do a mod look, look for pieces that are short, with high necklines, and end to give a boxier shape. I added these shoes because they are have that inspiration of the Mod look. If you are looking for particular icons to model this look, Twiggy in her younger years is perfect.

Edgier Styling

Saturday, November 19, 2011
For today's post I pulled from some old photos. I particularly love this look because it is so easy to wear. The dress can also be worn more formal (here). In order to wear a look like this you must carry the same theme throughout your entire outfit. You must commit to a edgier look such as this and keep the theme in your jacket, dress, and shoes. This will give you the best result in styling your outfit. When you feel good in your outfit you will look good also.

Wear to Work

Thursday, October 27, 2011
Today's outfit is a little less everyday wear and a bit dressier. This dress can be worn in several different way which is one reason I absolutely love it. Here it is a bit more formal than I normally wear it. I love this look because it can easily be worn to the office or out with friends. The jewelry easily brings color and fun to the outfit.

Have fun and enjoy playing with this idea with your own wardrobe.

Country Girl

Friday, October 14, 2011
Due to my recent trip to Texas I have been inspired by the country. I bought a pair of cowboy boots that I am absolutely in love with. Having spend 9 days immersing myself in the culture, the style has followed me home. I have taken a slip that I found in my closet and a night gown that I usually wear as a dress to create on dress. Here is my version of my texas style.
