3 Staples!

3 Staples!!
Some of my favorite things from the week!

Lululemon Scarf

Love this new scarf. I wore it a couple days ago in my A Little Bit of Country look. It is absolutely amazing. The fabric is so soft and the buttons allow for it to be worn so many different ways.

Magazines

I have been looking through all of my magazines lately looking for inspiration. Its so much fun because you get to see all the looks that really grab you. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to mix up their wardrobe.

Homework

Of course with finals in only a week and a half (ah!!). I am spending so much time with my books.

Sunday Snowday

Sunday, January 15, 2012
As the snow falls outside, I am sitting here snuggled up with a blanket on the couch watching Grey's Anatomy, magazines, and some piled up homework. Though these photos were taken a few days ago, I am currently wearing this outfit. I just added a cashmere scarf and a hat to keep me warm. In these photos I am wearing Tom's, which I finally broke down and bought. So far I like them a lot, but am not completely sold on them yet.

Bundling Up

Sunday, November 20, 2011
It has been so cold lately which has caused me to layer up. I am always wearing some sort of scarf or sweater, it seems like. Layering can often be hard to do because once you walk inside you are too warm. A key is wearing several different weight of layers so that if you take off your heavy jacket you can easily cool down. For me I often wear a light weight sweater under a much heavier jacket. This keeps me warm while I am inside but the extra jacket allows for me to keep warm when I head outdoors.

3 Staples

Wednesday, November 16, 2011
I am going to be changing this weekly piece from three wardrobe staples to 3 staples. This means that I will be sharing things more than just clothing, but just about anything.

My three staples this week are:

Pakros Boots

These boots have quickly become my favorite. They go with just about anything and are super comfortable. The brand is a new one to me so I was a little bit hesitant when I bought them. Now I am more than happy that I did.

Brown Leather Jacket

I have had this jacket for a few years now. I go through phases that I wear it more than others. It has large lapels and is great to wear with any type of scarf or layered.

Black Headband

Though a headband doesn't seem like a staple, it has been for me this week. I particularly like this one because it doesn't hurt my head. There is nothing worse than getting a terrible headache because of your cute headband. This one is very simple so it goes with everything.

Dressed with Wedges

Tuesday, November 15, 2011
On my recent shoe shopping splurge, I acquired these amazing new heels. I have been looking for a while for a pair of winter wedges and these ones seem to fit perfectly. These heels are going to be great for a lot of different occasions. With the weather changing an outfit like this is going to be tough to wear, but I am going to wear it as much as possible.

Since I heard there might be a chance of snow soon, let hope we can get some fun winter looks.

3 Wardrobe Staples

Wednesday, November 9, 2011
This week it has been hard to come up with 3 things that I have been wearing a lot. I find that I often grab onto a couple things and wear them to death. Though for some reason this week I don't feel like I have done that at all. As I look back at the outfits from the last week, I am trying to remember what I wore. So please forgive me if this week is not as fun as weeks past.

Infinity Knit grey scarf - I recently bought this new grey infinity scarf. It has quickly worked it way into almost every outfit. It is so warm, and with it being so cold it is practical and cute.

Fergie slouchy boots - These boots were added to my wardrobe this summer, and at that time I didn't have much use for them. Now that it is much cooler I love wearing them with skinny jeans or leggings.

Tart dress - I finally had a reason to wear my favorite new dress. When you buy a formal dress you normally have a reason to wear it, but when I bought this one I did not. Though it is not a wardrobe staple I wanted to add it to this week, because it was one of my favorite thing this week.

Tall Texture

Tuesday, November 8, 2011
Texture is one of the easiest things to add to your outfit. Add a scarf, like I did here, a sweater, a wool jacket, or just about anything that will stand out. When you are adding texture to your outfit focus it to one  item. If you are wearing a knit scarf, a sweater, and a fur vest you will have added so much texture that it doesn't have the same effect. If you are looking now how to complete your textured look, add a pattern such as this striped shirt, or another pattern that isn't too detailed or overwhelming. There are so many ways to wear texture, this is just one.

Now the news I have been promising you. If you can't get enough of this blog here, you can also check out my style advice on Cliq Vue. I am now doing a weekly piece that will break down different style pieces.
