Cupcake Hamburgers???

Thursday, January 5, 2012
Recently I have had two major obsessions: pinterest and hamburgers. I know this sounds very odd, but it'll make sense. I cam across this picture below of these hamburger cupcakes. Which this recipe can be found HERE.

Aren't these just so adorable? I thought, well I can make these also, but I made mine a little bit different.  The ones in the picture are make with actual cupcakes ad brownie for the meat. For mine I used a whoopee pie pan and used chocolate and vanilla cake mixes.

What You'll Need:
1 chocolate cake mix
2 white/vanilla cake mix
a whoopee pie pan
3/4 cans of frosting (depending on how much you put on)
sesame seeds
red, green, and yellow food coloring

How To:
1. Make your batters using the directions on the boxes and preheat the oven to the temp for cupcakes.
2. Use a spoon to scoop the batter into the whoopee pie dish.
3. Place in oven and bake for about 12 minutes. Keep an eye on them to decide if they need more or less time.
4. Take them out and let them cool! (very important)
5. While you are waiting for the whoopee's to cool, color your frosting. I recommend that you use a very vibrant food coloring because when you mix it with the white it makes most colors pastel. Use 1 and 1/2 tubs for green and then split what is left for the yellow and red.
6. Once the whoopee's are cooled stack them up with white on bottom and then a chocolate one. (Add a dab of frosting between to keep them together.)
7. Pipe on the frosting so that the green looks like lettuce, the yellow like mustard, and the red like ketchup.
8. IMPORTANT: in order to keep from having a complete mess of sesame seed dump them into a bowl and dip the tops of your buns into the bowl before placing them on top of your burger.
9. Enjoy!

Wish I would have taken more pictures for you!
