What to Wear to Face the Crowds

Monday, December 26, 2011
So after a wonderful Christmas, even if it was not so traditional, the next day is reserved for shopping. So what do you wear on a day that you will encounter crowds of people and long lines? Well you of course need to be cute, because you are never sure who you are going to run into, but you also need to be comfy to face all the lines.

This look can be easy made from your closet. To replicate the top, use a light, but baggier button up. You can use your boyfriends, husbands, or even brothers. In order to make it more fitted use a clip to gather extra material in the back. This clip won't be seen because you will add a vest or sweater to the outfit covering it up. Throw on a pair of black jeans, or if you must leggings (but make sure you can't see through them) and add a pair of boots. In the pictures below we used combat boots, but any style of boot would look good. To finish off the look add a large tote that you can throw all your amazing purchases or returns into.

25 Days of Christmas

Saturday, December 3, 2011
I meant to start this series on the first of December, but time got away from me. So I am officially starting it now. This will be my 25 days of Christmas outfits. How this will work is that I will do 4 days of different pieces of clothing and on the fifth day I'll show you how I styled it and how to style similar outfits. So here are 3 items for the first 3 days.

3 Staples

Wednesday, November 30, 2011
For this week 3 Staples Christmas and the upcoming holidays have been a major influence. Well I say it is a major influence because it is literally everywhere. I am not complaining about this, because I love the holidays. So here are my 3 Staples of the week:

Basketball

This week was the first game of the season for my sisters team, and that means I am going to be spending lots of time watching the game. These games are so much fun for me hang out and watch. She has become so good over the years it is just unbelievable.

Starbucks Holiday Drinks

I typically drink a peppermint mocha, but there is something that tastes different about it when its cold outside. Over time this has been a staple in my week. I love going to Starbucks grabbing my mocha and sitting down and people watching.

My sister and I got this scarf a few weeks ago for a steal, and so far I love wearing it. It is super warm so it keeps me warm even though it is freezing outside. The scarf is mostly brown with pieces of cream, red, and blue. This color combo really brings warmth, which is always good.

Nordstrom Private Shopping Party

Monday, November 28, 2011
Last night was the Nordstrom Private Holiday Shopping Party event, and my sister, my mom and I were lucky enough to all have the night free and able to go. During the event Nordstrom closed the store to the public and served drinks and hor dourves. We were so excited we even got to see our favorite Nordies girl who typically works at the downtown store. The entire event was very festive and got you in the holiday spirit.

They had the cutest drinks!

We even managed to get some shoe shopping in!

A Touch of Christmas Spirit

Sunday, November 27, 2011
For those of you who are from the Seattle know what Snowflake Lane is and how magical the Bellevue Collection becomes when the trees are strung with lights and the drummer stands come out. For those of you who have never gotten a chance to experience Snowflake Lane let me explain it to you. During the month between Thanksgiving and Christmas every night at seven the drummers, snow princesses, snowmen, and Rudolf come out and play a series of Christmas songs. One of the highlights is that it snows every night during the songs.

Fall Is Here

Thursday, November 17, 2011
Fall has been here for a while now, and it has me thinking, of all the things I am thankful for. Thanksgiving is right around the corner and then we will be into the Christmas season. Often we get lost in thinking about figuring out the schedule and presents that we might forget some of the small things that we are thankful for. So for today's post I wanted to share with you four things that I am thankful for.

I also wanted to hear what you were thankful for. Leave a comment and let me know!

1. The changing of the leaves. It is a constant reminder of how fast life moves and to enjoy every second.

2. My favorite umbrella. Living in the northwest you must have one of these.

3. My big, crazy, loud, and amazing family.

4. Being able to go to school, even though lately I haven't been thinking of it as a blessing.
